Grant-isms

07.24.15 "Huggy Time" where he randomly initiates this time and wants to hug.

01.09.15 Love his imagination. We played cruise ship on the bed the other day and all the pillows were fish he was catching.  We threw the anchor over and there also was a trap door.  Grant kept diving through the trap door to come up with imaginary things like golden swords and jewelry that he placed on mommy.

01.08.15 Recognizes and can tell his left from his right

01.02.15  Aware of direction and which way is home even when he's a couple miles away, impressive. Can no longer fool him with a long drive in hopes for a nap.

12.18.14 He hasn't gotten to the "why" stage and I'm hoping we don't get there.  He likes to ask "what is that" which is a lot easier to answer.

12.15.14 Learns how to use the track pad on the computer to play his learning games.

09.09.14 Loves to play monsters.  He points and yells MOOOONSTER! And then we run and hide.

8.20.14 When he says dump truck it still sounds like dumb F$%#$

8.20.14  He eats all of one thing on the plate before he starts another. Never mixing bites.

8.20.14 Two years and 11 months and Grant can sing the ABC's song

07.05.14 Hasn't touched a blueberry in over a year but when I call them purple balls he gobbles them up and wants more. He loves the color purple. I kind of knew that trick might work.

07.05.14 he's taught himself to use both sides of the remote control jeep to drive and steer. We practiced in the mall today and it was a great distraction while I shopped.

07.03.14 distinguishes between a boy and a girl out loud. Realization that he knows the difference.

05.16.14 Can count to 10 but its 1-5 and 4-9 and sometimes 10,11,12.

05.18.14 No more diapers. Officially potty trained 6 days later. He is 2.6 months old.

05.15.14 On the way to Home Depot Grant keeps saying he wants a screwdriver. Then he declares he wants a purple screwdriver so I start laughing and he says "is that funny mom?"

05.01.14 Loves off roading.  He rides his bikes on the grass and over tree trunks and says he's off roading. He likes to "Bump it and go fast".

05.01.14 Daddy drinks Coke so of course Grant wants to drink Coke so I buy sparkling water with flavor and tell him its "Peach Coke" or he calls it "Fruit Punch" as a treat. He still doesn't like water.

03.06.14 He wanted to play hide and seek today and I have no idea where he learned this from but I'm game.

03.05.14 When he's tired he pretends he's sleeping by making a snoring sound. I think he gets that sound from my CPAP machine.

03.05.14  The last couple of days he has started pretend play. I love the milestones.  He's serving me pretend coffee in the bathtub and making me smoothies. And this morning he's watching a cartoon of a daddy and son building something so he got his tools out and asked for glue because they are using glue.  He's fixing all the doors in the house with all his tools wearing his Home Depot apron that he has always refused to wear.

02.06.14 Officially is riding his tricyle :)

01.26.14 Knows how to blow raspberries, he has an obsession with feet, has to have his back rubbed to go to sleep and now wants his arms tickled. He holds his arms out and says "tickle arm mommy"

11.28.13 Licks his peanut butter off his toast with no hands lol. He apparently doesn't want to get his hands sticky so I will hold it while he bites it. Jelly, honey, anything else is fine holding.

11.28.13 Wakes up every morning and his first words are smoothie, George, and tractor. Curious George is his favorite cartoon and will not watch anything else for the last month.

11.28.13 Must sleep with his cars rather than his stuffed animals. And he knows which ones he wants to sleep with and asks for them.

10.25.13 Grant drinks from a big boy cup with no straw. And surprisingly already knows how to use the Apple TV remote that he's never been shown, coincidental maybe.

10.16.13 When Grant drops something or makes a mistake he says "awww man" I don't know where he got it from but now Dave and I are doing it and don't know if we started it or its contagious.

09.24.13 Every play car or car in a book is Daddy. Which makes sense with how much he loves cars.

09.05.13  If he sees anyone or thing like a teddy bear in uniform he points and says "daddy"

09.05.13 Pulls on my skirt cuz he likes the boomerang feeling when I run and stop suddenly.

09.05.13 When folding a blanket he runs and jumps on it wanting a ride around the house.

08.27.13 When I change his diaper he squirms and laughs and says it tickles. Being ticklish with a poopy diaper is....you fill in the blank.

07.17.13 Repeating lots of words that he hears, almost like copy-cat.

05.26.13 Somersaults!

05.11.13 Grants got a thing for smoothies but he can't say the "s" yet so its mooie, mooie which means mom, I need a yogurt smoothie. Keys are huge too and always have been. He must hold them and keep control of them.

04.16.13 We've been reading the book Goodnight Moon since he was born and every night now we have to go outside and say goodnight to the moon or going to bed is a battle.

04.02.13 Lots of growing up has happened this week.  Grant learned to take his diaper off and I found out as he was running down the hall swinging it over his head laughing. I saw him open the front door to grandma and grandpa's house, thank goodness I saw it in time and he wasn't wondering the neighborhood. He also climbed out of his crib last night so we are setting up his big boy bed. And managed to lock and shut the bathroom door that has no key, a locksmith house call worth $200.

03.26.13 Grant loves to drive the car. He can sit in the drivers seat forever puting the key in and out of the ignition and pushing all the buttons. When its time to get out of the car he has a death grip on the wheel and says "NO." He loves everything with wheels, bikes, cars, strollers, skateboards, scooters, etc..

03.12.13 In 3 days Grant has picked up more words and its so much fun when he repeats a word and then we all clap including Grant to show him how proud we are of him. We now have bubble, bus, apple, and ball.

03.08.13 Today Grant grooved to music on the iPad clapping along and surprisingly to the beat most of the time. He also said a new word, "mango" while enjoying one which shocked us and we loved hearing it. I'm sure he has 10 words by now and things only mommy understands but for sure its Mom, Dad, Grandma (Ma), keyes, no, go, uh oh, ow, cat, dog and mango!

03.07.13 After story time Grant and daddy chased squirrels from tree to tree in the park while we walked home.

02.06.13 Looks like it will be any day now when Grant is puting 3 words together, I can see him trying.  When I ask what does a cow say, he responds Moooo.  He can also do cat, dog, lion and owl. "NO" is the newest word that he practices for everything and its kind of making me laugh.

01.10.13 First time going down a long slide in the playground by himself. He loves it and mostly goes on his belly. I think I need a spotter before I'm comfortable with him flying down on his bum.

01.01.13 Grant can point to nose and eyes when asked where the body part is located. He knows the keys go in the door so he takes our keys and plays with locks. He is mimicking everything now, so smart and fun to watch. He regularly has pretend conversations on the phone as he holds it to his ear and babbles.

11.24.12 Grant is LEFT handed like my father on the Glasser side of the family.  He uses his utensils with his left hand and scribbles with his left hand.

10.20.12 Grant has discovered that he can walk backwards.

9.19.12 Grant takes his first sip out of a staw. Time for juice boxes!

9.16.12 Loves to rough house and from the beginning he's loved to hang upside down. We do a variation of somersaults because he loves to flip as well as hang updside down, swing and fly.

9.3.12 We sit on the shower floor and have a hand held sprayer. Grant likes to catch a stream of water in his mouth, it tickles.

8.29.12 Grant has been trying to say cat for a while. Came about the same time as momma and dadda. He says ca ca ca and chases the cat. He also knows "up"& "down" and if you say it he'll stand and squat everytime you say it, it’s a funny game. We use to play peek-a-boo but now he is the one playing it with us.

8.27.12 Grant eats everything I give him, I can't believe it. The only thing I need to try again is hamburger but check out the list on the home page.

8.12.12 Just posted a video of Grant taking 15 steps. He still uses objects to pull himself up but he is getting more confident in his balance with lots of encouragement.

7.17.12 Grant is balancing without holding onto anything for approx 5 seconds. I'm so proud, his 1st steps are around the corner.

6.30.12 He waved and said "hi" for the 1st time. He loves to flirt with the dark haired ladies and can't get enough of water. We take showers like a big boy and love splashing anywhere, even the cats water when mommy doesn't pick it up fast enough.

6.9.12 Grant can now "Hi Five"....still working on waving hello and bye bye.

Thank goodness for whomever came up with the slip ups for active babies. We do our diaper changes standing up whenever possible or there's a lot of crying, twisting and escaping quickly.

He's crawling and pulling himself up on things and playing games with us. He shakes his head while smiling and we mimic him and he repeats and we repeat and he repeats....its a funny game.

I'm sure I've heard his 1st word already....Dada!

Hasn't quite figured out how to use his arms to crawl but he is scooting like a stink bug and rolling. He may skip the crawling all together because he can pull himself up.

Giggles uncontrollably when we undress him for his bubble bath

Excited and so alert looking around constantly kicking his legs. He's going to be a runner for sure!
Smiles from ear to ear especially when we help him stand by holding him under his rib cage. He pushes off our legs and is very strong.

Loves watching Curious George with his morning bottle, kicks his feet, leans forward and smiles when he sees the monkey.
