Dump Truck

Found a new way for Grant to help me around the house and lets face it, toddler activities take 10 min to set up and 5 minutes to be done with it.  I can only run to the park and other kid friendly activities so many times a week.  Grant is a busy little man so sitting down to color, string noodles or just sitting still is not in his routine. We've had chunky legos for quiet some time now and I will say just this week he's really enjoying building.  So I guess we have found an activity that he will sit still for about an hour.

Toddler Bed

Transitioning from the crib to a toddler bed, oh the challenges for mommy and the new found freedom for little man. We transitioned for a couple of reasons, one being that Grant is tall enough and assertive enough to climb out of the crib on his own. Who knows if he's using his mattress as an Olympic spring horse, back hand spring and landing on his feet or heaven forbid his head. The other reason is I'm tired of getting up in the morning to go get him and pick up 20lbs while half asleep.  I'd rather him walk in and wake me up with a big good morning hug. The reality is he really wakes up and immediately starts saying "moothie" (smoothie) and pulls my hand. So the 1st night of trying out his new found freedom he must of gotten out of his bed no less than 75 times.  I layed on the floor a few feet from his bed and every time he got out I said "go back to bed and lay down."  He would get out, run to me and give me a hug and kiss and run back and jump back into bed. Then he got out of bed and went over the side rail on his head falling into bed about 15 times in a row which was fine because I figured it would help wear him out.  He eventually fell asleep and I snuck out of the room. Each night got less an less, maybe 20 times and then only 4 times and I thought cool! In a week I'll have him trained and on to potty training. Its been over a month now, I'm still laying on the floor next to him till he falls asleep, he still gets out of the bed a couple of times and there are days I'm just too tired and he ends up in our bed.

"H" is for Hawkins and a deep tissue massage as Grant kicks my back. The Snow Angel is a favorite too. How a little person can take up so much room in the bed I don't know.
