Feeding the dog

If you keep up you know that the cats are fed when the dump truck delivers the food and tips it into their dish.   I taught Grant not to disturb the dog when she's eating because I think its dangerous and possibly she could bite.  So I feed the dog and walk away and go about the rest of the housework.  The other day I came back to Grant feeding the dog one kernel at a time by launching it down his slide....haha And the dog didn't seem to mind obviously. We don't torture the dog like this anymore however, I did find the humor in it.

Pie

With fruit
We make what we think is a healthy version of pie for our sweet tooths. At least it sounds healthy, so if it isn't it should be. Buy a graham cracker crust (the small size), 2 containers of your favorite Greek yogurt, and creamy cool whip.  Mix both yogurts with 1/2 tub of cool whip and stir.  You can also add fruit if you would like.  Pour into crust, invert plastic lid to cover and chill for a couple of hours. Oreo crust with raspberry yogurt is a nice treat too but we prefer the graham cracker crust.

Creek

Stopped off at a park in Beverly Hills on the way home thru Coldwater Canyon that we have never been  Its the one across from Firehouse #1 if you ever get a chance to go there.  The kids were playing in the man made creek and Grant wanted to join in on the fun. Grant started to take his shoes off so I helped and he stepped right in. Must of walked up and down the creek at least 10 times holding my hand.  There are a couple steps and steep parts and rocks to climb otherwise I would of sat down and watched him play. After about 10 times up and down the creek I used my coaxing skills to go get our shoes and run through the park to the finish the line, the car :) I swear he's our little outdoors man. I was thinking this was a mini version of white water rafting and how I bet he'd enjoy it when he's older.

1st Ice Cream Cone

What better way to celebrate your 1st ice cream cone but going through the Baskin Robbins, 31 Flavors Drive thru with a toddler in a loaner vehicle. Not the best of ideas but the car seat needed to be washed anyway so I figured why not!  Gold Medal Ribbon is the flavor in case you are wondering.

kids scoop on a cake cone please

Saving a Buck $

I love saving a buck and getting the satisfaction of being able to fix it myself.  In this case Dave of course gets the credit. I love the bloggers who post every and anything you can think of to fix things.  Last time I think I fixed a leaky washer connection. Toshiba is known for power jack problems and no wonder, they use a cheap plastic part that eventually breaks off inside the laptop. Research shows it would cost $200-$400 to fix the power jack but I stumbled across a blogger who fixed it for $3.00 so we gave it a try. Success!

Turtles

We went to The Commons at Calabasas, you know the city where the Kardashian's live along with the Beibs and a whole lot more celebs.  Its a shopping center with upscale stores, restaurants with names I can't pronounce and a theater.  We went here specifically for the Koi pond and turtles, something free to do.  Grant loved it! His little heart was pumping so fast as I held him back from jumping in the fountain while he said "mine" reaching out for the turtles.  Me personally, I'm too scared to pick one up even though all the other children around us were picking them up. I enlisted Dave to be the brave one as you can see.
